Selina studied Five Element Theory and Chinese Acupressure (Tui Na) at the Oriental Healing Arts Institute and graduated in 2004. She continued her education with Leslie Bruder, studying Phenomenal Touch, and completing the CRMT program at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT). While at BCMT, she devoted her internship study to the Boulder Veterans Center, where she worked intensively with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After graduating from BCMT, she began working with insurance patients alongside physical therapists to provide injury and rehabilitative care. Selina continued her Somatic Training at the Brooks Institute in Boulder, Colorado where she studied Pre- and Peri-natal Attachment, and Body Centered Psychotherapy. In addition to Therapeutic Massage Techniques, she specializes in deep-tissue work that includes Integrative and Somatic Techniques.
In speaking about her work, Selina says, “I offer nurturing and inspired care to those challenged with chronic or acute pain. If you’ve been in pain for sometime, I know it affects your whole life. I understand how challenging it can be to be present, engaged and settled when your body is trying to tell you something. I’ve invested years learning the language of the body and its myriad ways of expressing what it needs, whether it’s physical, emotional or energetic. I enjoy the deep dive and the exploration that comes with finding what your body needs for resolution. I truly enjoy my work and my clients. I’ll meet your body where it is, truly listen and work with you in resolving your specific issues.”
Selina was born and raised in Tucson, but has enjoyed living and working in Vail, Manhattan and Yelapa Mexico. She finds joy and inspiration in creating art, rock climbing, snowboarding and playing her Native American flute and djembe. Selina worked as a graphic designer and Art Director before following her heart to bodywork and massage therapy.
