Rachel Scott is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and the owner and founder of Colorado Body Wisdom. She received her massage therapy training at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT). Rachel specializes in blending Shiatsu, Polarity Therapy, Hakomi, Integrative Massage and Trigger Point Therapy with a sprinkle of magic and compassion. She has a special interest in working with those who suffer from developmental, familial and event traumas, and women who are undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Rachel founded Colorado Body Wisdom (CBW) shortly after completing her training in massage therapy as a way to build community and support. While working various jobs throughout her twenties to make ends meet, Rachel became disheartened by the prevalence of sexual harassment and discrimination she experienced in the workplace. She made it her mission to create a mutually supportive, inclusive, and harassment-free work environment for women in the healing arts. Now in its eleventh year, CBW provides a safe space for female practitioners to develop their skills and build a career in a profession they love.
As a massage therapist, Rachel offers an eclectic combination of knowledge and training. She is continually learning new modalities and integrating them into her practice in order to broaden her skills and expand her effectiveness as a healing practitioner. Regardless of the modality she utilizes, Rachel prioritizes creating attunement and resonance with her clients, in order to facilitate deep listening. Her therapeutic work blends her expertise in proven clinical techniques with her own intuitive guidance and curiosity. Having navigated her own journey with trauma through healing, Rachel is particularly skilled in the process of guiding her clients to unlock their bodies’ innate ability to heal through the power of touch.
Rachel is passionate about improving access to massage and holistic medicine, especially to overstressed and under-touched populations, because she has found that oftentimes the people who are most in need of touch and support are the least likely to seek it out for themselves. As part of her Corporate Wellness Program, she advises companies on how to incorporate massage, yoga, mindfulness, nutrition and other stress-reducing measures into their offices and also performs these services. There is nothing more satisfying to Rachel than helping people to find new ways to ignite their hearts, see their lives from a perspective of possibility and choice, and shift from habitual patterns of stress to self-care.
Rachel is a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT), a Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP), and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). She received a B.F.A. in Musical Theater from Texas State University.
